Frequency Extender

Model STE-KF406-00-S1 is a D-Band X4 frequency extender that uses an input frequency range of 27.5 to 42.5 GHz at +5 dBm along with harmonic generation and filtering to produce a 110 to 170 GHz RF signal at -3 dBm. The extender is designed and manufactured as a bench top unit to extend the low frequency synthesizer or sweeper without losing all of the functionalities and features. The extender also features adjustable legs to allow for an easy test set up.

Omnidirectional Antenna

Model SAO-2734030810-KF-S1 is a full band, WR-28 omnidirectional antenna that operates between 26.5 and 40 GHz. This vertically polarized antenna offers 360 degrees azimuth coverage with a 7.5 dBi typical gain and ±1 dB nominal gain flatness. The antenna features a half power beamwidth of 45 degrees in its vertical direction. The RF port of the antenna is equipped with K(F) coaxial connector. The version with WR-28 waveguide interface is offered under model number, SAO-2734030810-28-S1.

Digital Attenuator

API Weinschel’s new 4207 Series of MMIC Digital Attenuators operate over the 100 to 32,000 MHz frequency range and are available in a variety of attenuation ranges (up to 94.5 dB in 0.5 dB steps). These units can be controlled using parallel (TTL compatible), I2C, SPI, UART, or USB interfaces.

The NUDC2-18/1.3-2.3 is a dual conversion Transceiver providing 2-18 GHz operation in a versatile OpenVPX platform The NUDC2-18/1.3-2.3 includes internal LOs which provide an instantaneous IF bandwidth of 1 GHz and exceptional Noise Figure: Down Converter NF= 6dB max, Up Converter NF=15dB max. Both the RF and IF paths include variable attenuation. The NUDC2-18/1.3-2.3 is digitally controlled by RS-485. This 2-18 GHz Wideband Transceiver 3U Module is one of the many new and products at Norden Millimeter.

Tech Brief: YIG-Tuned Bandpass and Band-Reject Filters

Using small conductive “loops,” a YIG filter is coupled to and from a YIG sphere’s resonant magnetic field. The closer the loop, the wider the bandwidth. Bandwidth can also be expanded by increasing the number of YIG resonators and carefully “tuning” the RF coupling loops. In this brief, RF engineers will learn the three basic methods in which this coupling is applied: signal transfer; signal reflection; and oscillation feedback, and how this differentiates a bandpass from a band-reject filter.

The R&S CMW270 wireless connectivity tester is the world’s first tester to emulate all IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards, including 802.11ax. In signaling mode, users can test the RF properties of WLAN stations under real-world conditions. The tester presents a solution based on the well-established R&S CMW270 wireless connectivity tester, which has a newly extended bandwidth of 160 MHz. Users also need the new hardware option, the R&S CMW-B100H advanced measurement unit, which allows them to emulate an 802.11ax access point to test the RF properties and performance of a STA under realistic conditions.
